    @bixler1337 Sweetie, mercury is silvery and it would be a liquid at room temperature.

  8. rawimpact says:

    @bixler1337
    you have never seen mercury, have you?
    its liquid at 20 °C. it would be evaporating at temperatures like they are created from this torch!

  11. ScandinaviansAreCool says:

    Where did you get the ceramic blanket?

  14. lapulapu12345 says:

    look there is a gold on a cotton XD

  15. perrybnewman says:

    @pooppeeyoupants  Agreed.

  16. pooppeeyoupants says:

    @perrybnewman lemme reword that: it seems like it was laid on cotton, so the cotton will keep it from blowing away. it seems that the cotton was keeping it from doing that, but on the other hand, gold is normally too heavy to be blown away, even in powdered form. however, as you melt it more, it becomes easier to blow, and it was craving in at 0:32. i suppose its just the cotton and that it was blown evenly on both sides.

  17. perrybnewman says:

    @pooppeeyoupants You obviously don’t have much experience with torches. Expanding gases directed out of a nozzle cause movements in atmospheric fluids…ie wind. That’s why jet turbines provide more thrust when ignited. People often cover the gold with borax or other fluxes to keep it from blowing away. Clumps of gold usually don’t blow away, but this looks like fine powder.

  18. pooppeeyoupants says:

    @perrybnewman dude its not wind. its the heat and torch, so it wont fly away

  19. perrybnewman says:

    How did you keep the powder from blowing away?!

  20. analyzingfunny says:

    Nice fried egg.

  21. aaronbadger says:

    MAPP gas is also used in combustion with air for brazing and soldering, where it has considerable advantages over competing propane fuel due to its high combustion temperature of 2,020°C (3,670°F). It’s plenty hot to melt gold.

  22. maxinpains says:

    it wont get absorbed by the wool? then I’ll use this method instead of using crucible dish!! or I shouldn’t?

  23. Frosty6209 says:

    I want to touch it

  24. sajabz2007 says:

    @salut151 How is the gold powered neutralized?

  25. salut151 says:

    @TeenageIronman Yes, it is.

    Thank you for showing this! I would love it if you put more videos up. You are a master and I want to learn gilding so much. I’ve learned a lot from your website, but videos really help me to understand before I actually try it for myself. Thank you again!
